Jericho Beach Hostel takes groups, and I know of one group attending our event that is booking there already! A bit farther away, but nice location.
The Buchanan Hotel
$60 per night – have to share a bathroom. Located in the West End – approx. 45 min walk to ferries to Granville Island. Ideal for travelers seeking clean, quiet, and comfortable accomodation. 2 locations in Vancouver – The downtown one and the Gastown one, both of which are close enough to get to Granville Island in reasonable time. Has private rooms with bathroom down the hall.

This one also looks quite nice and has rooms with private bathrooms for around $80 per night. Might have cheaper rooms too. They would have to take a bus to Granville Is. Book Rooms & Suites

Hotel at the Waldorf
The Waldorf hotel is ok, too. I am not sure how much it is but likely around $80 per night for your own room plus bathroom. It’s in a somewhat gritty part of town but the hotel is nice.
